Steroids in Baseball

2 March 2009 No Comment

Alex Rodriguez should be banned for a season.  How can he get nothing but a media slap on the wrist and a few insignificant fans like me hating him even more than we already do for a punishment?  The guy is a joke.  First of all, I don’t know very many sports fans that like him.  Second of all, I don’t even know very many YANKEES fans who like him.  So let’s make everyone happy, and make an example of this guy.  Baseball is a joke, for the simple reason that cheaters cheat and get away with it.  There’s no accountability anywhere in the sport, and no one takes responsibility for what they’ve done.

Come on.  The guy BLATANTLY took steroids for multiple years, yet he can’t take responsibility like a grown adult should; instead, he confesses “I took a banned substance.” Come on dude, admit it, you’re a phony.

At minimum, first offense should be suspension for 100 games.  That would set the tone, that’s more than half of the games (just about half if the team makes it to the world series though).  The guilty player should forfeit all previous stats, meaning they now start from scratch, as if their first game back from suspension was their FIRST MLB game.  I’m sick of these weak-ass, pathetic suspensions.
